The Pieces of Me (2017-2019).
This project is a reflection on the experience of hybrid identity.
It reviews a personal universe where my history is framed
and the heritage is ignored by others.
The deviation from the dominant norm makes elusive and results in a inner
challenge of looking at oneself through the eyes of a white society,
while maintaining one’s self-definition. I explore this in-betweenness
through processes such as alienation, invisibility and masking. At the same
time, there is also the dream of a future, in which I can transform into a
being that is no longer defined by geographical origin and roots.
